I think the scoville scale is smaller this side of the Atlantic...

Hello! So things have begun to normalize hence the lack of blogging. I'm pretty much busy all the time at the university, between teaching the kiddie-winks and taking classes I hardly have enough time to drink beer! Shocking! Becky's still being creative and is succeeding in making our house a lovely place to live.

So, a quick montage of the last few weeks.....

So this is Becky getting ready for a curry adventure, we caught wind of an Indian restaurant down in the valley so decided to go for a walk and get our fix...

Becky enjoying the curry. We asked them how hot their vindaloo was (we've figured out Americans don't do spicy food to often), the waitress told us that the mint yogurt sauce we had been enjoying was a 3 on a one to ten scale, the more reserved part of us struggled to hold in the condecending guffaws and asked the waitress to get us a vindaloo as hot as possible. The chef came out to look at us and was visably distressed. The vindaloo arrived. We ate it. It was as hot as a kurma. Seriously, it was feeble.

Disappointing.

We have also been hit by Autumn (fall) quite severely. It's like harvest festival at school (you know the weird pagan-esque ritual where you bring in cans of food and leave hay lying about in a crappy decorative attempt).

I personally quite like the idea of celebrating the change of the seasons. Although leaving loads of vegetables on your doorstep in a decorative manner seems a little decadent, there's an economic crisis people!

We also went to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History with our good chums Katie and Norman. I dragged them round bombarding them with unrequested information about the smallest bits of rock before getting crazy-ego at the show and tell stand were I decided to identify half of the museums fossils, upon which the two hosting palaeontologists started whipping out their own unidentified acquisitions to which I happily obliged.

Cats - not vegan.

Also, look who I found hiding in one corner of the museum!.....

My little lobster man! Although recent studies indicate this representation may not be anatomically correct (ahem).

Anywho, We've just finished with all the Halloween celebrations so we'll put some pics of that up soon.

At last a new blog to read. Stop having so much fun you two and remember to "write home" more often.
I agree with Jo, make an "English" curry for the chef to know what a proper curry should taste like!

Don't just make him a curry, burst into the restaurant carrying a vat of the stuff, exploding with St. George flag ticker-tape, a fan fare and fireworks, while singing that song from Fat Les, #Vindaloo vindaloo nah nah! (Just a suggestion).
More blogs please, we have addictions to feed xxxx
