oops

hello!

well, let's get started. first, lilly and josh are coming to stay! yaaaaaay! a month tomorrow. it's going to be SO fun. i might cry with excitement. AND we booked our flights home (ouch!). we're back on december 8 til january 8! hurrah! a whole month. can't wait to see everyone.

ok. on to catching you up to speed with what's been going on since i last blogged forty years ago.

cleveland. our friends (they are so lovely) norm and katie took us up there a couple of weekends back. i reeeeeally liked it. we only saw a little of the city, but it's pretty and a REAL city (not like aaaaakrun) and there are lots of things to do and lots of people and it's clean and bright. lovely. we went to the natural history museum. i'll let tim tell you about that when he next blogs because it's definately not my area. suffice to say, there were a great deal of stuffed animals. and some shrunken heads. human heads. i hadn't heard of that before and frankly, i prefered my life that way. brruuurgh. but it was fun. tim taught the guides a thing or two. he has been being dead clever recently by the way. i will let you tell him about his academicness.

in other news, i have a page on flickr for my lomo stuff in case you want to visit (mum) http://www.flickr.com/photos/beckyeckyecky/.

OH! also, being the little madam that i am, i wrote a letter to our letting agents pleading them to rethink their 'no pets' policy for us. and they are letting us get a kitten, hurrah! so after christmas we are off t'shelter. can't flipping wait.

and the writers group went really well. i am dead happy. but haven't written anything for a couple of weeks now, so i need to get into that again. tomorrow i will get onto that i think. oh, and shucks, nanowrimo is in november, which is when lil and josh are here, so i'm not going to be able to do that. maybe i'll start a week early. or finish a week late... i don't know. i'm too excited.
pictures!
so beautiful. you can see why they go on (and on and on) about fall. i really hope it's still like this in... 33 days when lilly and josh come out!
here is tim (this is about 2 weeks ago i think - he has a beard now!) eating a 'hot tin roof' at mary coyle, the ice cream parlour on the square. it's been there forever and they've never changed a thing on the menu.

the only vegan thing they do is fruit tea. it was good tea though.

and this is our neighbour, nic, at the matinee (or favourate bar on highland square) pouring us all her special (cranberry, pomegranate and vodka. the detox of shots!). she worked there until the day after this picture was taken... when she got fired. whoops. but we've been next door a few times since for beers on the porch (and a game called apples and apples or something...) and they're great. we were there last night in fact. oui oui. very nice indeed. they have two insane little pug dogs too. they're funny. one of them is called leonard. when he barks it sounds like he's saying 'i'm leonard'. i wish i could put a sound bite on here.

anyway, there was music trivia at matinee that night, and we came second from last (a step up from usual). tim won this rather fabulous trucker hat. doesn't he look dashing? the other guys are... on the left... i can't remember his name, but he runs the art gallery up the road, and eric who is nic's husband in the middle. i think we're going to see devo with them on friday night *shrugs*. and also maybe to cleveland with them for halloween. exciting!

and i just wanted to show you this beautiful house which is opposite our apartment. one day i will have a house with a turret.

love you loads. can't wait xx

p.s. if you are reading this, please leave a comment so that i know you're out there. blog writing gets lonely.

As ordered, here is my comment! Keep it up Becky - it's great hearing about your life in the US of A. Glad it's all going so well (and I want to go to that ice cream parlour... sorry, parlor). xxx
PS I deleted the first comment as it had a massive typo in it and the editor in me wouldn't let it stay there.

I have read!!! I have read!

So today I was very tired (seriously, slumped on couch, not being able to think/move much) and haven't been able to write that email, which is very annoying because I have so much to write. My parents get back from Cyprus on Monday and I am doing a massive clean up in the house tomorrow (Sunday) so everything is lovely for their arrival. Washing behind the ears and everything. Once that is complete I will treat myself to a "debrief Becky on London life, Jo and Work" email. There will be girly gossip, girl grief, girl giggles, girl frustrations, friend annoyances, friend love, family traumas and family love(what else). I will update on EVERYTHING!!! And I have a lot to say at the moment. Trust me!

Anyho, love you so much x As I have said before, in the words of Tina Turner: You're simply the best, Better than all the rest!
